Join us in celebrating our 2026 Outstanding Tree Farmers of the Year,
Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District!

The Maine Tree Farm Program and Maine Woodland Owners are hosting their 71st Annual Forestry Field Day on September 12, 2026, in Williamsburg, Maine. This event honors the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District as the Maine Outstanding Tree Farmers of the Year, an award given to Tree Farmers who demonstrate excellent forest stewardship.
Williamsburg Forest is a multi-use area that offers trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and hunting. It is recognized as a birding destination in Piscataquis County by the Maine Audubon Birding Guide. Additionally, the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District utilizes the property for educational activities such as tours and workshops.
Attendees of Forestry Field Day can look forward to guided field tours of the property, informative walk-and-talk sessions with experts, live demonstrations of forestry tools, engaging exhibits, and local food.
Forestry Field Day is an outdoor, rain or shine, event and will involve field tours that might go off-trail. Please plan accordingly.

In a celebration of leadership, legacy, and landscape-scale stewardship, the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District (PCSWCD) was recognized as the 2026 Maine Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year award recipients during the Forestry Forum at the annual Agricultural Trades Show.
